So it wasn't such a chore to stay up until midnight afterall. I did pretty well, think that I may be getting much more sleep than I used to these days and psychologically, in my head, I was expecting to stay up until at least midnight.
I closed the front door behind me just before midnight with me, my coal, frozen bread, salt and silver in the form of a 50 pence piece. I usually and ardently watch for the ticking over into the new year on my phone or timepiece so that it is memorable and truly witnessed, yes, I am a tad dramatic in that way, but I am a Leo. However this year was a blur, fireworks were exploding before midnight and my first 'Happy New Year' texts began to arrive moments before midnight and by the time I had read them, 12:00 had come, un-noticed and passed.
This is the first year ever that the New Year has arrived and gone almost un-noticed by me. A moment after what must have been New Year and my land line began to ring, I let myself in and answered the phone and it was a slightly tipsy Bee with voices, (neighbours,) in the background. After a quick exchange, I tried to text loved ones for a little while then went to bed, I think I was asleep by 12:30.
I wasn't looking forward to 2013 but I'm now actually glad that it has finally arrived.
A Fairy Story revisted, boy got in touch with girl on New Year's Eve, he'd like her to keep in touch, we shall see.
