Heatwave?

Total nightmare getting here this morning wasting precious petrol days before payday grrrrr.  All main routes to here were closed, diversion signs were a waste of time and diverted you back to the opposite end of the already closed road, so, 35 minutes later, I finally got here when it should have taken 14 minutes at worst.  Anyhoo, once I got here, I happily discovered that they now open at 9am on a Saturday so if I'm up and out early, I can come straight here, write, do a little people watching and eavesdropping in on conversations... but don't tell anyone.

Read two pieces of news this morning, Peter Falk has sadly passed away.  The iconic and slightly crumpled figure of Columbo with his scruffy raincoat and big cigar has been on our TV screens forever and will no doubt continue to pop up with comforting regularity.  J says Columbo is the only murder mystery she can follow as they show you who did it at the start.  I also loved him as the Grandpa in "The Princess Bride,"  who wouldn't want him reading you a story when you're sick?

Secondly, some parts of the country are in for a heatwave this weekend.  Judging by the distinct nip in the air, the angry grey clouds over head and the need for head lights on the drive here, I think it's safe to say it won't be this particular part of the country.

Did a massive, (well, only 6 minutes but it felt massive,) arm workout last night but everything is in good working order today.  Also did some lovely saddlebag moves, (to get rid of them not get some,) this part of my anatomy is not in such great working order though and I can definitely feel it today.

I'm meeting three of my cousin's for lunch today.  I haven't seen them for almost 12 months so I can't wait to catch up in person and one of them if very pregnant with only 4 or 5 weeks to go so can't wait to see her before bub arrives!

Is FB o-v-a-h?  According to Grazia magazine, over 100,000 deactivated their accounts last month alone.  It may be because I'm a bit of a technophobe but FB does creep me out a little and I may well be in the next 100,000 wave to pull the plug.

Guess what popped into my inbox yesterday?  My first; "book your Christmas party now!" email.  Do you think they know it's only June?  I guess business is business and if I was in charge of bookings, I'd be beating the drum now too.  Who knows where I'll be by Christmas, hopefully a travel writer, blogging from warmer climes perhaps?
