The Walled City

I'm writing to you from a different Starbucks today, it's been a while since I've visited this one and it's looking good, it's had a face lift and yes, the coffee is good too.  I have somehow made my way to the Walled City, not to be mistaken for the Emerald City although I am hoping to find some answers here too.  I'm here to go to the University event which will hopefully give me some information  to help me make the right choices.  I've made it here by some kind of minor miracle, there have been extensive road and route re-modelling since I was last here, you wouldn't believe how much the landscape has changed, I can't believe I found my way without Sat Nav, of course, getting home may be another story altogether.

My short walk on arrival was illuminated by a positive vocal battle between buskers with an amp and the preacher yelling that we're all going to hell in a handcart, I have to say, the buskers won by a whisker but I'm sure the preacher won't be put off and will give it another go in a short while... for fear of going to hell in a handcart.

I slept great last night which is more than can be said for the rest of the week, it's amazing how much better you feel after a good night's sleep!  My alarm woke me early but I was raring to go and didn't have to drag myself out of bed.  I feel like the fitness has been going in reverse lately so I decided to  re-jig the playlist last night and I gently jogged for 45 minutes this morning, mostly to Mr Blunt and Ben's Brother.  I'm aiming for a slower pace but for a longer period of time, at least until I build up some stamina again.  I'm still the plie Queen though, I've been doing those nightly and also throw in some arms when I have enough energy to lift my water bottles which I use for weights, (they're heavier than my actual weights.)

Did I tell you that lots of people in work have been following a particular diet in work?  They've been hugely successful, quite a few of them have lost around 19, 20kgs, so, for the past week, I've given it a whirl, partly to get me eating more healthily and partly to lose weight.  I'm 7 days in and so far, there is almost a 1kg difference on the scales.  That's 1kg up!  I've said it before, this three meals a day thing just doesn't work for me, still, I do feel better for the influx of veggies and fruit into my diet but don't know how much longer I'll keep at it for, if it carries on like this, I won't be able to fit through a door.

I'm wearing a sleeveless, wrap around top this morning but without the pin I usually wear to secure the front, I'm seriously in danger of pulling a Judy Finnigan before I get home so I have to keep checking and fixing as I go.

I've just navigated my way through a throng of Japanese tourists all excitedly photographing the black and white, Tudor architecture and posing on the cobbles to capture the moment.  It's great to see people visiting and having such a lovely time.

Spoke to J on Thursday and she told me her and hubby were heading to Cornwall for either a long weekend or possibly the week if the cottage is free.  L&F just returned from Derbyshire yesterday, I love Derbyshire and may have to watch Pride and Prejudice this afternoon, (the Keira version,) for a glimpse.

Been catching Surf Patrol most nights this week, no idea which season I'm watching but the creepy narrator has been replaced by a much less scary one... phew, at least I don't feel like I'm sitting through a horror movie now.
