Hello Again! Prior to our chat, I had jogged for 35 minutes, showered and breakfasted, so all in all, off to a pretty great start. We're currently at 16 degrees, (I checked,) and we should expect, apparently, 26 degrees later on! I won't hold my breath but the P20 is on standby... just in case.
Had a fab time at lunch yesterday with my cousins. The meal was good and the company excellent. It was great to catch up and they all looked incredibly happy and settled, not to mention excited about the imminent arrival of bub. It was lovely.
My university prospectus arrived yesterday, in a matter of weeks, I could be signed up and setting out on a new, (and time consuming,) adventure. If all goes to plan and I can manage it, I've more or less settled on the psychology degree, let's face it, Nina isn't the only one with, "more baggage than a Quantas flight," so, I think it will be not only educational but something of a voyage of discovery. Even if it doesn't lead me anywhere career wise, education is never wasted.
So, did you hear that Rachel Weisz and Daniel Craig have tied the knot? I think it's so romantic! They haven't been together for that long so they must just know it's right. Love them both as actors.
I had no food in the house yesterday evening. I'm being overly dramatic, what I actually mean is that I had nothing in that I fancied. After feeling miserable for a few hours, I was getting peckish around 8pm and decided that I would probably perish in my sleep if I didn't find something, so I went digging in the freezer and unearthed one third of a rock solid loaf, a few slices of which I later turned into toast. What I actually wanted was a glass of wine and a packet of crisps, the toast just didn't cut the mustard.
As we were saying... it struck me a couple of weeks ago that I miss having someone from an older generation in my life. I miss old people! Every few weeks I think I'll call Auntie Beryl... my last "adopted" aunt, only to remember that she's not with us anymore. One of my favourite parts of our old haunt was... time permitting, getting to chat to customers of a certain age in between serving them. You're right, they do have fabulous stories and if you ever feel like you pretty much know all you need to know, they go and tell you something important, interesting or both, that you didn't already know. I have heard some incredible, funny and heroic stories from people of a certain age. Shouldn't we be recording these stories somewhere? The older generation also remind us of some basic graces in such a busy world; how to give of yourself, how to have patience, how to listen and have a warm and ready smile.
I've decided to show the world I have a waist today. Don't worry, I'm not wearing anything midriff baring, I am however wearing a wide belt, cinched in, plus... it makes you breath in. Also on today's outing are my koru earrings, (that's what they remind me of and if I call them that, you'll know what I mean,) Pandora and jeans. This reminds me actually that I really need to try to summon the patience and gumption to fight with the slide show. I have tons I want to add to it but it's so complicated, you need the patience of a saint, of which I am not.
On the agenda at some point today is "Mildred Pierce." It's the new and much hyped mini series starring Kate Winslet. I'll watch the first episode and let you know if it's something you need to look out for x
